Knitwear Still Feels Like a Mystery

Your brand has evolved. Your knitwear should too.

But when it comes to knitwear, something isn’t adding up:

  • Creative ideas get lost in translation

  • Samples don’t fit, with no clear reason why

  • Costly, exhausting trial-and-error

  • High standards colliding with production realities

Knitwear isn’t just another product category. It’s its own language.

Client Results

Underperforming category becomes the first to sell out.

  • The Fargo Jacket, a new outerwear shape I designed to solve Mirth’s underperforming outerwear category, became an instant hit. Using an innovative stitch, their most expensive piece sold out within one week of launch.

  • Proved that a shearling-inspired knit can thrive in a transitional climate

  • Validated premium pricing by pairing technical design with brand storytelling

  • Drove such strong demand that the style is already being recut

Bottom line: Smart innovation turned a weak category into a revenue driver.

Better fit with less sample rounds

Mirth’s first-ever knit pant, engineered without spandex yet maintaining excellent shape and fit, was achieved in just two samples. They had tried to launch pants in previous seasons but were consistently underwhelmed by the fit. I scrapped those specs and started fresh, balancing yarn, stitch, and silhouette to create a shape with ease and a flattering saddle.

Effortless brand storytelling through complex print-based stitch

I translated Mirth’s woven hand-blocked prints into knitwear through a lightweight yet structured jacquard. As a print-heavy brand, this was a natural evolution that the client hadn't dared attempt due to its complexity. It carried their visual DNA into knitwear while keeping the collection cohesive.

Paired with updated silhouettes, these styles have become strong sellers.
